AI diagnostic tool as good as radiologists at detecting prostate cancer

Artificial intelligence (AI) systems can potentially aid the diagnostic pathway of prostate cancer by alleviating the increasing workload

Researchers have completed a comprehensive international validation of artificial intelligence (AI) for diagnosing and grading prostate cancer.

This first international study on AI in prostate diagnostics shows that AI detects nearly 7 more significant prostate cancers than the current standard of care.

The study, published in the journal European Urology, involved over 1,000 men from 14 different countries.

The AI system was able to detect prostate cancer with the same accuracy as a trained radiologist.

The findings suggest that AI could be used to help diagnose prostate cancer more accurately and quickly.
